Through a small incision, the natural lens is removed and replaced with a custom intraocular lens (IOL) for permanent vision correction.
The natural lens is gently removed using ultrasound energy (phacoemulsification). This dissolves the lens into tiny fragments that are aspirated away through a micro-incision.
A premium intraocular lens is folded and inserted through the micro-incision, where it unfolds and is positioned precisely inside the lens capsule to replace your natural lens.
The IOL corrects your prescription and, with multifocal or extended-depth-of-focus lenses, can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses at all distances.
